Post-Consumer Action

Came across a brilliant site called Unconsumption where what struck me was its definition of itself …

Uncertainties are rife in climate science.

“The doubters are right that uncertainties are rife in climate science. They are wrong when they present that as a reason for inaction”. – The Economist.

Is Violence Required to Address Climate Change?

I wonder sometimes if we have become too happy to live a life without real consequences. Do our world leaders fight for our self-interest and not our responsibilities? Looking at the probable outcomes of the COP15 conference it appears so. (Warning some strong language).

The Creator Serves the Created

Its an observable fact that, like Dr Frankenstein, we can often end up serving what we have created.

Should we be afraid of the scientists?

When scientists don’t agree we are left in a bit of a hole, after all they are the experts. And I wholly support questioning the accepted answers where there is room for doubt. I’ve been aware of the Global Warming debate for ages and the two extremes of “Man is creating a catastrophe” and “Chill its just natural”. And the debate rages on it seems. But are we missing the point?

Untrustworthy Leadership – we need to think not merely judge.

We all know the sad end for the boy who cried wolf – his voice and opinion was not trusted and he was swallowed up – but I have a feeling that the wolf the government is announcing now may have an appetite for more than the shepherd boy.
