Its been a couple of days since the government was formed and the heady excitement of what will happen has waned to let me think about the impact. I’ve looked at what the LibDems have done in forming the coalition, what they have given up and what they have allowed in terms of Tory policies. I’m disappointed …
Its an observable fact that, like Dr Frankenstein, we can often end up serving what we have created.
When scientists don’t agree we are left in a bit of a hole, after all they are the experts. And I wholly support questioning the accepted answers where there is room for doubt. I’ve been aware of the Global Warming debate for ages and the two extremes of “Man is creating a catastrophe” and “Chill its just natural”. And the debate rages on it seems. But are we missing the point?
The likelihood of food, water and energy shortages resulting from massive population growth and increasing expectations among the developing nations is a given, though timescales are always questionable.
The real question is what sort of leaders can help us solve the potential disasters?
