Are the trappings too much?

Sometimes we add just a little bit too much to our life and what we think makes us “better” in fact may not be the case.

We are all familiar with the too-large-mortgage scenario, or the credit cards that get us into debt.  But what else do we add?

We heard a comment on the radio today from a man bemoaning the price rises of petrol and how people were changing their habits around non-essential travel because of it (reducing).  He was complaining about the situation. Surely he can see that the reduction in car use is a good thing for emissions?

And what about the “promotion” that was great but stripped us of time and energy and emotional capacity to contribute elsewhere?

Its as good a time as any to do some thinking about it all don’t you think?
